Museum Østjylland – An everlasting museum experience
Museum Østjylland is a state-recognized cultural history museum with associated archives, which shed light on change, variation, and continuity in human living conditions from the earliest times to the present day.
At our museums in Grenaa, Ebeltoft and Randers you will find both classic and modern exhibits built on advanced research and top-notch technologies. The museum shops has museum jewelry, colorful textiles, real-size crafting tools, fun toys, and tasty delicacies.
Access is free of charge to all our museums.
Exhibitions
Museum Østjylland Randers
In the permanent exhibits you can learn about life around Randers and the town’s vicinity dating all the way back to the first known presence of man 100.000 years ago and up until today.
The Craft Museum
The Craft Museum is closed to the public due to renovation and renewal of the exhibitions. The museum will reopen in 2027.
Randers City Archive
Visit the Randers City Archive and find historical documents from the city. Explore the past and get a unique insight into Randers' development over time.
Museum Østjylland Grenaa
Discover the histories of Djursland and Norddjurs in permanent and temporary exhibitions. Get a glimpse of the past and reconnect with its depths as you go through an interactive museum stay.
Old Dyers Yard
Old Dyers Yard is the only remaining market-town dye works in all of Northern Europe and certainly one of the most unique and well-kept courtyard environments you will see in Ebeltoft’s busy high street.
Maltfabrikken
Discover a unique cultural house in the middle of Ebeltoft. In Maltfabrikken you can learn about the local history of the market town, local authors and see the best view in all of Ebeltoft. Various great experiences await visitors across the three floors.
